We have an incredible team here at Hidden Acre Farm and we are looking for another crewmember to join a wonderful team of energetic, reliable, and fun farmers. Hidden Acre Farm is a 4-acre certified organic and Real Organic diverse vegetable and flower farm. This is our 7th growing season, and we sell at 3 weekend farmers markets. Hidden Acre Farm is a family business owned and operated by Jack and Melissa, and we strive to create an enjoyable working environment where our team members can grow personally and professionally while helping Hidden Acre Farm meet our fiscal, environmental, and social goals for the year. Please be under no illusions; farming is exceptionally hard work, though it has the potential to be incredibly rewarding.
Who should apply?
Farmers Market Manager: We are looking for a crew member to manage our Bronxville Farmers Market and to join us on the farm for 1-2 days per week (including Fridays).
● Vegetable and/ or flower farming experience preferred / outdoor work experience required
● Interest and passion in organic, intensive, and sustainable growing practices
● Gravitas for customer service, sales and presentation of market stand
● Willing to work in all weather conditions (heat, rain, cold, ice)
● Ability to lift 50 lbs and be physically fit
● Positive attitude with good work ethic
● Respect for all team members and customers
● Attention to detail and ability to follow directions closely and work autonomously
● Willingness to commit for the entire season
● A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record (required by our insurance carrier)
Schedule and Compensation
FRIDAY and SATURDAY REQUIRED plus 1-2 other weekdays
Market hours: Saturday 5.30am - 3pm. Farm hours: 8-hour day on the farm
Market day rate: $250, Farm hourly rate $18-20/hr
There is potential for an end-of-season bonus if we reach our profitability targets
Start date: week of April 28th.
We are unable to provide housing or transportation at this time, so those with reliable transport who live locally are encouraged to apply.
